The Firearms Education program at The Technician Dojo addresses personal safety through the responsible handling, operation, and storage of firearms. Courses are NRA-certified and cover a range of training contexts: beginner safety and fundamentals, concealed carry, personal self-defense, home defense, vehicle defense, and tactical training, offered in private and group formats in Columbus. The program is open to students age 8 and up at all experience levels, including those who have never handled a firearm.
What a course looks like
Before you sign up for anything, you have a conversation with the instructor about what you want to accomplish and where you are starting from. That determines the right course, what to bring, and what to expect when you show up.
Courses run private or in a group. Certification programs typically take two days. If you want focused instruction at your own pace, private sessions are available.
Where armed self-defense fits
This is the dojo's armed self-defense curriculum. The Karate and Judo programs build physical technique. This one covers what it takes to handle a firearm safely, carry legally, and make good decisions under pressure. It is not a range day. It is structured training tied to real scenarios.
